Terms of Service

Hackle Tracker is a fly tying inventory and pattern matching tool. You use it to track what materials you own and discover what patterns you can tie. Be a decent human, don't abuse the service, and we'll keep things running for you.

You need an account to use Hackle Tracker. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person — don't share accounts or create multiple accounts to get around limits.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

Hackle Tracker offers a free tier with limited features and a Pro tier with full access. Free tier limits include a cap on tracked materials, tying log entries, and pattern visibility.

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly ($5/month) or annually ($39/year) through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from your account page. When you cancel, your Pro access continues through the end of your current billing period, then reverts to the free tier.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

If you're unhappy with Pro within the first 14 days of your initial subscription, email us for a full refund. After that, cancellations take effect at the end of the billing period with no partial refund.

The materials you track, patterns you log, and any submissions you make remain yours. By submitting pattern data or feedback, you grant us a license to use that information to improve the shared pattern database for all users.

Midge (our AI coach) provides suggestions and advice about fly tying. This is for entertainment and general guidance — we make no guarantees about the accuracy of AI-generated content. If Midge tells you to try a Royal Wulff in a muddied creek, that's between you and the fish.

Don't do any of the following:

• Use the service for anything illegal
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Abuse the AI features (excessive automated requests, prompt injection, etc.)
• Scrape or bulk-download pattern data
• Resell access to the service
• Submit spam or malicious content through pattern submissions or feedback

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Hackle Tracker may include affiliate links to third-party retailers. When you purchase through these links, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to products relevant to the materials and patterns in the app.

We do our best to keep Hackle Tracker available and your data safe, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime or zero data loss. We recommend not relying on Hackle Tracker as your sole record of anything irreplaceable.

We use industry-standard hosting (Supabase, Vercel) with regular backups.

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we shut down the service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice and provide a way to export your data.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice with at least 14 days' lead time before taking effect.

Hackle Tracker is provided "as is." We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
